Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how our app ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects user information. By using the App, you agree to the terms of this policy.

1. Who Can Use the App

This app is exclusively available to currently enrolled Cornell University students. Access is restricted by verifying users' identities against a pre-approved list of known names.

2. What Information We Collect

When you log in, we collect limited user data through Google Authentication, including:

• Full name
• Cornell email address (NetID-based)
• Google ID (for authentication purposes only)

We do not collect passwords or any other personal Google account information.

Additionally, we store:

• A record of weekly dining check-ins
• Your student name as it appears in the approved list

3. How We Use Your Data

We only use your data to:

• Verify your identity as a Cornell student
• Allow weekly check-ins to the dining service
• Prevent multiple check-ins within a single week

We do not use your data for marketing or advertising.

4. How Your Data Is Stored

All data is stored securely using Google's cloud infrastructure, including:

• Google Firebase for Authentication and Firestore for database
• Dart frontend hosted via Google services (e.g., Firebase Hosting)

Access to this data is restricted to authorized administrators and protected by industry-standard security protocols.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following Google services:

• Google Authentication (for secure login)
• Google Firestore (to store check-in records and user identifiers)

We do not share your data with any third-party services beyond what is necessary for these core functionalities.

6. Data Retention

We retain check-in records for internal tracking purposes. You may request deletion of your records by contacting the app administrator (see Contact below).

7. Your Rights

As a user, you have the right to:

• Request to view the data we have stored about you
• Request deletion of your check-in history

Please note that deleting your records will disable your ability to check in again.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app and updated with a new effective date.
